I lurve driving & my Saxo VTS is modded !! It's the ultimate fashion accessory!! and it's something you do with your partner (if you've got one) but let's face it, women have better taste than most blokes anyway. Car modding is SO much fun, especially when you've got a car which shows up all the little boy racers... Like I have :D
Car modding. It isn't just for blokes ;)

Why Do It?
Modifying your car can be a rewarding experience. Every car of your make and model is virtually the same and it's in our nature to desire something a bit different from everyone else. If you want to be a serious car modifier then here are a few suggestions to help you on the way.
These are a selection of the popular cars that are currently being modded:
Citroen Saxo - VTR's are good but VTS's are better :p
Fiat Punto
Ford Fiesta
Peugeot 106
Peugeot 206
Peugeot 306
Vauxhall Corsa
This list of cars is popular for the simple reason that they are intially cheap to buy, there are LOADS of modifying parts for them & they are cheap to insure. Once you start to modify them, insurance costs could increase. This depends on your insurance company & their policy on modified vehicles.
Where to Start
Alloy Wheels - The quickest way to start modifying your car is to change the wheels for a set of Alloys. There's a massive range of alloy wheel and tyre packages available for almost every car. You'll be amazed at the difference just changing the wheels can make.
Induction Kit - Your engine breathes in air & mixes it with fuel. Simply put an Induction Kit let's your engine breath in a lot more air at a quicker rate than a standard air filter. More Air means more fuel being burned which means more power for you.
Lowered Suspension - By fitting a lowering kit you'll achieve a couple of things. One is the arches will sit better over your alloys making it look great. The other is an improvement in handling due to a lower center of gravity and a stiffer suspension set up.
Sports Exhausts - After the air/fuel mixture has been burned your engine has to breath out through the exhaust. Sports exhausts are designed to be less restrictive, so gases can escape more easily & give you a bit more power.
